How To Pull Off Blue Eye Makeup
Posted on February 20 2018
One of winter’s biggest beauty trends? Indigo eyes. Blue eye makeup has been spotted on both the runway and the red carpet this season, but it’s also definitely doable in everyday life. The best part about this anything-but-basic hue is that anyone can pull it off. Blue is more forgiving than black and brightens your eyes more than brown. Plus, it feels modern and fresh.
Our favorite way to wear the trend is a play on the traditional smokey eye that swaps out browns and grays for blues—think splashes of navy and bursts of cobalt.
Check out our simple how-to below.
After applying a navy eyeshadow—use our sparkling sapphire hue Ice Princess—fill in your top and bottom waterline with a pigmented eyeliner. Opt for our Liquid Eyeliner in Storm (a shimmering midnight blue) if you prefer a bold look, or go with our Eyeliner in Navy (a deep classic blue) for something more muted. Add a touch of our iridescent baby blue shadow Skylar to the inner corners of your peepers and on your brow bone. Finish with a few coats of jet black Mascara for contrast, and keep the rest of your look clean and simple.
If a full eye of blue is a bit too daring for you, try incorporating the shade in a more subtle way—swipe on our Mascara in Navy Blue or rim your eyes with our Eyeliner in our matte navy Ocean. You’ll get the same edgy impact without a high commitment level.
