Trend To Try: Violet Haze Eyeshadow
Posted on March 10 2020
Searching for a way to switch-up your eyeshadow game? One of our favorite new trends—violet haze eyeshadow—is here to get you out of your makeup rut. One thing we love about the current purple craze is that there's a variation that looks good on everyone. The versatile shade comes in a multitude of iterations, making it a color option that’s extremely wearable and fun at the same time.
If you want to try the trend but aren’t sure where to start, it can be as simple as applying one violet-hued eyeshadow to your lids or as complex as applying several different shades to create a gradient or smokey look. Some examples? Apply a medium metallic shade to your entire lid and then use a light lavender shade in the crease to soften the look; pair a soft matte or pearlescent lilac shadow with a dramatic black cat-eye using our Liquid Eyeliner in Raven; wear varying or similar violet tints on your eyes, cheeks, and lips for a monochrome look that pops; create a standout smokey eye by blending dark purple shades on your eyelids and working out with lighter shades for a gradient effect; add a swipe of true violet eyeshadow just above your eyelashes for an understated appearance; pair your favorite purple shadow with our Eyeliner in Indigo or Liquid Eyeliner in Amethyst for a tone-on-tone approach; or start with a shimmering light lilac on the center of your lids and accent it with a deeper violet shadow in your crease for an ombré look.
Pick up a few of our Eyeshadow shades—we recommend Dusk (shimmering deep royal purple), Angel (sparkling soft lilac), Plume (slightly iridescent lavender gray), or Euphoria (matte lilac with golden flecks)—and get started.
