8 Fall Beauty Trends To Try Out ASAP
Posted on September 22 2021
If it’s been awhile since you busted out your favorite bold lip color or dusted off your go-to black eyeliner, now is the time to do it. One of our favorite seasons of the year has finally arrived—fall makeup season—and with it come several trends (classic and oh-so-edgy) that will have you picking up those products and having a little beauty fun, whether you’re going out or staying home.
Scroll down for the eight fall trends to try out ASAP and the products you need to nail them.
The Kitten Eye
The kitten eye is what you might expect from its name—a subtler and more dainty version of the traditional cat eye that uses less product, is easier to apply, and produces a cleaner look. To wear the trend, start your Precision Liquid Liner in the center of your eye rather than beginning at the inner corner like you would for a typical cat eye—you can use a pencil or eyeshadow and our Precision Brush if you aren’t confident with your liquid eyeliner skills. Apply thin, short strokes as you draw along your lash line and give the product a tiny flick at the end to achieve a subtle wing.
Skinimalism
Keep it clean, minimal, and dewy, babes. The trick to achieving that Instagram-worthy sheen without taking it too far? Simply mix your favorite hydrating, lightweight, and pearly primer—like our Face Primer—with your liquid foundation. Simply use a 60 to 40 ratio of primer to foundation and apply it to your skin as you normally would.
Loaded Lashes
The focus is on lashes, lashes, and more lashes this season. Thicker, longer, and darker is the major theme, a feat easily achieved at home. Try swiping on a coat of Luxe Mascara in Clear first, then applying a few coats of Black Mascara, and finally finish up with another coat of clear. This will lock in moisture and give your lashes extra volume—talk about oomph.
Extra Bold Lipstick
Think lips that pop in vampy, rich earth tones. We’re loving a gloss over a lipstick for added pigment—try our Lipstick in Velour topped off with our Sheer Gloss in Mania. But really, anything bold with staying power that won’t rub off under a mask is fair game.
Intense Eyeliner
Dramatic eyeliner is in, no matter which way you prefer to wear it. Lived-in, bold black that circles your whole eye (Yes, even the waterline!), graphic bursts of color (like green or purple), and exaggerated two-tone looks are all the rage. We recommend our Precision Liquid Liner for a super pigmented look or our Eye Defining Pencil if you prefer a more classic look.
Natural Brows
Not able to get your brows done by a technician? Don’t fret—it’s time to embrace your fuller and fluffier arches. Put the tweezers down and focus on building density by applying a few coats of our Luxe Mascara in Clear to your brows. Then take our Cream Brow Pencil and fill in sparse areas with short, feathery strokes in the same direction your brow hair naturally grows and finish by adding another coat of clear mascara to keep your arches in place all day.
Unexpected Blush
Show off those cheeks (when’s it’s safe!) and embrace a deep color or an unexpected shade of blush like rich mulberry, bright poppy, or deep fuchsia. Our trick to trying this trend without committing? Dab your favorite bold lip color—like Meritage, Femme Fatale, Currant, Vino de Amor or Sin on your cheekbones and blend with your fingertip.
Minimalist Nail Art
This season is all about paired-down polish looks that you can easily recreate at home. Try mixing matte and glossy polishes in rich, earth-tone shades—like the ones in our Oasis Nail Collection—in a classic design like the half moon or French manicure, by adding a single contrasting dot to each nail using a pin head, or by drawing a thing single stripe down each nail.
