3 Colorful Makeup Trends To Try This Summer

The sunshine is out, and you know what that means—time to test out this season’s hottest makeup trends. This summer’s top picks are packed with color and we can’t wait to wear them. Scroll down to check out three of our favorites and then go try them out yourself.

Poolside Eyes
Think of this nostalgic trend as a wash of denim blue across your eyes. Ease into the look by swapping out your black eyeliner for a vibrant navy or bright blue shade and drawing on a minimal kitten wing or exaggerated graphic design. Or dive right in—cover your whole lid in a wash of matte baby blue, use a shimmering deep blue shade all around your eye for a fresh take on the smokey eye or add a pop of cobalt in the inner corners of your eye. Any way you take it, this trend looks undoubtedly cool.

Try it: Mineral Eyeshadow in Ice Princess, Mineral Eyeshadow in Skylar, Precision Liquid Liner in Azure, Classic Eyeliner in Navy or Eye Defining Pencil in Ocean

“Blonzing”
Warm up your complexion with the latest blush-meets-bronzer hack—simply select an earth-toned, deep neutral blush that in essence can do the job of both bronzer and blush. Sweep the product over your cheeks and blend up onto your cheekbones towards your temples and then across your nose for a perfectly sun-kissed look. You can even use the same shade as an eyeshadow for an allover monochrome look.

Try it: Powder Blush in Contour or Mineral Blush in Bella Donna + Kabuki Brush

Juicy Lips
This gradient lip look is basically a softly smudged stain that features saturated color in the middle of your pout that seeps out to the corners of your mouth. Think: what your lips looked like after eating a cherry popsicle as a kid. Choose a glossy, pigmented lip color and apply it straight from the tube and use your fingers to blend—the key is to skip the liner and brush. Grab some product with your index finger and press the color into the center of your lips, where the full pigment will be and then drag the color out just past the lip line and softly blend.

Try it: Lipstick in Coral, Sheer Gloss in Caliente, Matte Luxe Lip in Flamingo, Lipstick in Mauve, Lip Color in Starlet or Sheer Gloss in Mania
