It’s Back: Blush, Blush, and More Blush

Dare we say blush is back? Get on board with one of spring’s biggest trends and add some color to your cheeks à la “Bridgerton” to ease your complexion into the warmer months.

When it comes to wearing blush, selecting the right product ultimately depends on your preferred texture and whether or not you’re rocking a mask that day. While a liquid or cream blush is typically the most transfer-resistant and best for dry skin, powder blush usually has the most staying power and is easier to work with. Can’t decide? Our current preference is to use both! Don’t be afraid to layer different textures of product together to achieve a customized look, just use different tools for application—reach for a sponge or use your fingers when applying creams or liquids, and use a firm full-size brush for powders.

Some of our favorite application methods? To softly brighten your complexion (because we could all use a little color after being indoors for months!) simply swirl product over the apples of your cheeks—if you’re wearing a mask, apply product closer to your eyes at the top of your cheekbones and sweep it in a c-shape up to your temples and even over your eyelids. If you really want to go for it, make blush the focus of your look by going monochromatic with your makeup (wearing the same shade on your eyes, cheeks, and lips) or pair two or more blush shades together (like a vibrant pink and warm peach) for a high-contrast look.

The best part about blush is that there are no real rules! Feel free to experiment with different products, colors, and application techniques to see what works best for you.
