Trend To Try: Statement Blush and Glitter
Posted on November 07 2018
The cold months of winter are approaching, and with them comes arguably our favorite time of year—holiday makeup season. And this turn around, it’s all about pushing contouring aside and embracing your natural face shape with a bold blush and adding a touch of glitter. But this isn’t your average blush application—we’re going for a major statement by embracing creativity in the color placement.
Simply apply your foundation as normal to create an even base, take your favorite blush shade, and use your fingers or a brush to apply the product. Think outside the apples of your cheeks, and extend the color up your cheekbones and connect it with your eyeshadow. Build slowly until you achieve your desired intensity. For maximum brightness and lift, use a cream blush first and follow up with a powder blush to set it in place.
But what shade to choose? For a look with major punch, choose a cream blush like our Dahlia Multi Pot or one of our bold Lip & Cheek Creams. If you want something slightly more muted, opt for a powder blush like our Vibrant Pink, Contour, Apricot, Sunset, or Haze.
Complete your party-ready look by taking shine a step further and putting some glitter on your face—either on your eyelids with a shimmering eyeshadow or on your pout with a sparkling lipstick. This will add some vibrant metallic texture that is sure to turn heads.
