Our 6 Favorite Spring Makeup Trends
Posted on March 28 2018

Forget classic pastels, this season is all about your favorite spring shades with a twist. Splashes of purple and pink, metallics of varying tints, and pretty manicures were spotted all over the runways—providing plenty of inspiration for translating the catwalk beauty looks to real life. The takeaway? Don’t be afraid to play with new colors.
Check out the best spring beauty trends below.
Smokey Violet Eyes. This season, purple is the new neutral. Thanks in part to Pantone selecting Ultra Violet as the 2018 Color of the Year, the hue is everywhere—including in smokey form on your peepers. Try out the trend by blending two or three different shades of purple across your lids for a bold gradient approach—our shadows in Dusk (shimmery royal purple), Angel (glittering soft lilac), and Odyssey (cool frosted plum) are perfect options—or apply a light layer of lavender for a more subtle approach.
Silver and Gold. Delicate metallic details were seen at plenty of the spring 2018 shows, and they’re perfectly wearable for everyday. The key is to use a light hand—thinks dots of silver on your inner-eye corners using our Eyeshadow in Vertigo or applying a rim of gold around your eye using our Eyeliner in 24 Karat. These looks are easy to achieve, but have maximum impact.
Super Flushed Cheeks. Forget contouring—a more delicate, rosy flush is in. Blend a soft cream blush—like our Multi Pot in Dahlia or our Lip & Cheek Cream in Daybreak—across the apples of your cheeks, on the tip of your nose, and over your pout. For even more glow, swipe our Cream Highlighter along the bridge of your nose and down your cheekbones.
Dark Matte Lips. Don’t toss out those dark lip colors just yet! Working rich shades of plum, wine, and cherry into your Lipstick routine to offset the pinks is all the rage this spring. But keep it matte—save the gloss for your brighter shades. Some of our favorites include Currant, Meritage, Chocolate Cherry, Rapture, and Clay. For tips on how to rock a bold lip, check this out.
Rose Gold Highlighter. Rose gold is here to stay. The color—which had a huge moment last year—does not show any signs of losing popularity in the makeup world. Jump on the bandwagon and use it as a highlighter—try our Liquid Radiance Highlighter in Rose Gold—and swipe it across your cheekbones and eyelids for a universally flattering, easy-to-wear, and healthy glow.
Opaque Pastel Nails. Think soft gray, baby pink, and pure white. This season is all about neutrals with a clean and restrained spin—no brownish nudes here. Achieve a low-key yet stylish manicure with our top picks: Dawn (pale pink), Chrysalis (lavender grey), and Iceberg (glossy white). For something more unique, try color-blocking two of the hues in geometric fashion.
