5 Must-Try Winter Makeup Trends

We’re currently in the thick of winter, and there’s no better way to brighten your mood (and your complexion) than by trying out a new beauty trend. The best part? You don’t have to worry about the heat melting away your makeup, and you’re freer to experiment with intense colors and textures.

Keep scrolling to check out the five trends you need to wear before the season ends.

Indigo Eyes. This spin on the traditional smoky eye swaps out browns and grays for blues. After applying a navy eyeshadow—use our sparkling sapphire hue Ice Princess—fill in your top and bottom waterline with a pigmented eyeliner, like our matte navy Ocean or our deep blue Navy. Make sure to keep the rest of your look clean and simple.

Pink Highlight. A light wash of pink will give you a subtle, healthy glow that will make it look like you just got back from a tropical vacation. Depending on how daring you are, apply our Liquid Radiance in Halo (a dewy soft pink) or Rose Gold (a bronzed pink shimmer) to your cheekbones, the bridge of your nose, and the top of your lip. Your skin will be instantly energized.

Smudged Lips. Choose a seasonal and rich matte lip color—we prefer Meritage (a full bodied wine), Currant (a stained deep red), Galaxy (a sweet berry), Vino De Amor (a bright red wine), or Rapture (a dark reddish brown)—for the best blur. After applying the lipstick like normal, simply take a Q-tip and smudge around the entire lip line.

Gloss on Gloss. Think a glossy lip and a glossy lid is too much? Think again. Don your favorite lip gloss on both your pout and your eyes. We recommend going with a clear shade—like Crystal—because it’s mistake-proof and works with every skin tone. Just tap a light-handed dose of product on your eyelid and swipe it on your pucker per usual. Finish up with black mascara.

Heavy Metal. There’s nothing more edgy than contrasting metallic tones on your eyes, and we love the glimmering opposites of charcoal and gold. Create a full wash of color on your lid with our shadow in Gem (a shiny charcoal black) and then carefully press our shadow in Egyptian Gold (a warm shimmery gold) into the center of the lid and inner corners of your eyes.
