25 Ways to Change Up Your Beauty Routine Right Now

Looking to try something fresh? There’s no time like the present to revamp your makeup routine. And you don’t need to pick up a whole new collection of products. A few additional items – when mixed with what you already have at home – will do the trick. From easy switch-ups like giving lip gloss a try to more daring feats like pairing a blue-lined eye with a bold orange lip, the following tips will make you feel ready to take on the world with a radiant and updated look.

Here are 25 ideas (in honor of our 25th anniversary!) to get you started – bonus points if you try more than one:

  1. Rock a bold lip

Make a statement and swipe on one of our deep Lipstick colors like Meritage, Pomegranate, or Currant. Check out this post for tips on how to make it work.

  1. Swap out your black eyeliner

For something more unique, ditch the black and opt for our Eyeliner in Iguana (vivid grass green), Indigo (matte grape), Ocean (matte navy), or Snow (pure white).

  1. Give lip gloss a try

Gloss is back and better than ever! Our current favorites are Mocha Ice (warm peach), Soft Berry (rosy nude), and Caliente (candy apple red).

  1. Use a sheet mask

Need an instant skin pick-me-up? Try out our Sheet Masks – there’s one to solve every issue.

  1. Don’t be afraid of blue

The best place to add a pop of the cool color is on your peepers – choose our quick-drying Liquid Eyeliner in Storm (deep midnight blue) or Azure (cool ocean blue). Or, go for our Eyeshadow in Ice Princess (cadet blue with a sheen) or Skylar (shimmering baby blue).

  1. Opt for a more vibrant blush

We’re currently partial to Vibrant Pink, but if you’re keener on orange-based hues, Sunset – a warm apricot – will do the trick. Apply it higher on your cheekbones for added impact.

  1. Get adventurous with mascara

Who says mascara needs to be black or brown? Our Midnight Violet and Deep Navy are fun alternatives that are subtle enough for everyday.

  1. Go playful on your eyes

If you’re feeling extra adventurous, do a wavy wing or exaggerated cat-eye instead of hugging your lash line.

  1. Try a colorful smoky eye

Sound counterintuitive? It will certainly turn heads. Our Ammunition Palette is packed with energizing shades (think gold, copper, and terracotta) that will let you leave gray behind. If those hues are too bold for you, use our subtle Aura Palette that is filled with springy pastels.

  1. Switch neutrals for metallics

If earthy eyeshadows are your go-to, try benching your neutrals and reach for a sexy bronze shade instead. Chameleon (warm shimmering brown) or Sahara (lustrous shimmering copper) are the perfect choices to try out.

  1. Layer on the mascara

Spider lashes are in! Forget subtle definition – the thicker the layers, the better. Use three or more coats of our Black Mascara from root to tip, then hold the brush vertically and swipe through lashes from side to side.

  1. Wear a brown pout

The ‘90s brown lip is totally on trend. Keep the rest of your makeup simple, and apply our Lip Gloss in Caramel for a shiny finish. Want a more matte look? Our Lipsticks in Matte Cerise or Chocolate Cherry are great options.

  1. Try monochrome

Pick a vibrant color like orange, purple, red, or blue, and wear it on both your eyes and lips – the key here is to get a close match so it appears intentional.

  1. Bolden your brows

Nothing makes a statement quite like a sculpted eyebrow. For added impact, use our Cream Brow Pencil in one shade darker than your natural hair color to shape, fill, and define your eyebrows. Finish it off by applying a layer of Clear Mascara for added definition.

  1. Go nude

Try the no-makeup makeup look by skipping the foundation and creating a base using our Sea Mineral Hydra Mist and smartly applying Concealer. Brighten up your eyes, lips, and cheekbones with our Multi Pot in Thistle – make sure you don’t miss the inner corners of your peepers. Coat your top lashes with Black Mascara and add a tint of color to your lips.

  1. Do a more vibrant manicure

Say so long to your neutral nail polish. Instead, swap your trusty taupe for a pastel pink (Cherub), trade out your go-to black for a dark wine (Bordeaux) or deep green (Viceroy), and exchange your favorite gray for mint green (Garden).

  1. Do a blurry lip

For a soft, romantic look that you can wear everyday, skip your lipstick and opt for one of our Multi Pots. Tap on the creamy color and dab along the outer edges with a cotton swab to blend any sharp lines.

  1. Get your glow on

Brighten up your complexion for spring by using our Mosaic Illuminator – the multi-pigmented product covers imperfections and gives a luminous finish. Top it off with a heavy dose of Liquid Radiance on your cheekbones for that extra highlight.

  1. Use gloss everywhere

Our Lip Gloss in Crystal is the perfect way to create a sheer sheen, but not just on your pout. Don’t be afraid to dab it on your lids or cheekbones for a dewy look.

  1. Apply an unexpected color pairing

Who says you can’t rock a blue-lined eye with an orange lip? For your next night out, swipe on our Coral Lipstick and use our Liquid Eyeliner in Azure. If you’re not a fan of those two hues, create your own color mix – the bigger the contrast, the better.

  1. Skip the mascara

Play up other areas of your face by leaving your lashes au naturel. Add a pop of very pigmented color to your cheeks or lips for a wow-worthy look.

  1. Think pink

Pink is having a moment, and we’re not mad about it. For a bright flush, try our Blush in Vibrant Pink. Our Lipstick in Sheer Pink – a bright bubblegum hue – also goes for the bold. To incorporate the color in a less intimidating way go for the Tropical Cool Nail Collection, which includes five punchy polishes in the hue. Check out more pink ideas here.

  1. Replace your brushes

Though they may perform the same tasks, all Makeup Brushes are not created equal. The type of hair used in a brush determines its porosity (ability to hold and disperse pigment) and flexibility – and our lineup is sustainable and cruelty free. This simple switch can change your beauty game.

  1. Rock a matte lip for day

For a full matte look, use one of our lip liners – like Berry (pinkish plum), Bounce (deep pink) or Fraise (cool fuchsia) – to fill in your entire lips. Make sure to smooth your pout with Lip Primer first so that the color doesn’t feather and fade.

  1. Go for the gold

Channel your inner golden girl by wearing the metallic on your eyes, lips, and cheeks. Our Eyeshadow in Egyptian Gold, Lip Gloss in Champagne, and Liquid Radiance in Liquid Gold make a winning combo.
